Danny 𓃲specialises in complex commercial litigation, regulatory investigations and anti‑money laundering laws. Armed with over 15 years of experience gained from a leading international law firm and as a senior legal counsel of a Fortune 500 company, he has valuable insights into the issues that affect our clients deeply and is well positioned to deliver business-oriented legal and strategic solutions to assist them in achieving their commercial goals.
Danny's commercial practice spans financial services disputes, shareholders' disputes, fraud and asset recovery, employment, product liability, judicial review and contentious insolvency. In his regulatory investigations practice, Danny advises clients on a myriad of regulatory issues, ranging from internal investigations and securities laws related investigations and disciplinary proceedings commenced by the authorities, to representing clients in settlement negotiations with the authorities. He has represented a Hong Kong listed company in a high-profile investigation by the Securities and Futures Commission and the law enforcement agencies, as well as a major international bank in the first investigation after the Hong Kong anti‑money laundering law came into effect by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. He was ranked as a leading individual in Chambers Global and Chambers Asia.
Before joining Haiwen, Danny was senior legal counsel at HNA Group where he was responsible for the group’s ex-China litigation and regulatory compliance and investigation matters. Previously, Danny was counsel at Hogan Lovells. He obtained his legal qualifications from the University of Hong Kong. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he read Engꩵineering S🎐cience at the University of Oxford. Danny is admitted in Hong Kong and England and Wales. He currently serves as a member of the Anti-Money Laundering Committee of the Law Society of Hong Kong.
